RO Plant Construction – Mechanical Scope of Work
A Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plant is essential for producing high-quality potable or industrial-use purified water. The construction scope covers detailed engineering, installation, testing, and commissioning of process systems and utilities.
1. Site Preparation & Civil Works
- Construction of RO Plant building/shelter
- Foundation work for equipment skids, tanks, and electrical panels
- Chemical storage area with bund walls
2. Raw Water Intake & Pretreatment System
- Installation of raw water pumps, intake screens, and pipelines
- Erection of multimedia filters, activated carbon filters, cartridge filters
- Chemical dosing units for pH adjustment, coagulation, and chlorination/DE chlorination
3. High-Pressure Pumping System
- Installation of high-pressure RO feed pumps
- Piping and instrumentation for feed control
- Pressure and flow monitoring systems (gauges, transmitters)
4. RO Membrane Skids
- Erection of RO modules, pressure vessels, and membrane housings
- Interconnection of permeate and brine lines
- Installation of energy recovery devices (as applicable)
5. Post Treatment System
- pH correction and remineralization skid
- Disinfection units: UV, chlorine dosing, or ozone system
- Permeate tank, distribution pumps and piping
6. Brine Disposal System
- Brine storage tanks or neutralization pit
- Brine pipeline to discharge location or evaporation pond
7. Chemical Dosing Systems
- Installation of anti-scalant, cleaning chemical, biocide dosing skids
- Tank installation and piping
- Metering pumps, agitators, and accessories
8. Piping & Instrumentation
- Installation of SS, UPVC, HDPE, or GRE piping based on feed quality & pressure
- PI&D integration including flow meters, pressure sensors, control valves
- Support structures, brackets, and flexible joints
9. Electrical & Control Systems
- MCC panel installation and cabling
- Integration of PLC/SCADA automation systems
- Level, flow, and pressure control integration with process logic
10. Testing, Commissioning & Training
- Hydrostatic testing of piping systems
- Flushing, membrane wetting, and startup procedures
- Performance testing including TDS & flow validation
- Training of client operators on plant management & troubleshooting
